We ask that you please read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information about how and why we collect and store personal information about you when you use this website as well as important information about your rights in relation to your personal information and on how to contact us.

We use personal information to provide our services and offer related content to people who register for an account with us and make purchases. We do not generally give any of your personal information out to third parties, but there may be some exceptions where we need to do this to work with third party providers who help us to run our business.

Who we are
House of Health and Wellbeing collects, uses and is responsible for certain parts of personal information about you. As part of doing this we are registered under the General Data Protection Regulation which applies across the European Union and United Kingdom. We are responsible as the ‘controller’ of that information for the purposes of data protection laws.

  4. Transactions: this is for us to record and share with our publishing partners the usage levels of certain books.
  5. Your use of the service: the kind of books you read, your reading interests as well as your preferences for viewing books and contents. We use this information to provide you with the service as well as to recommend certain topics and content to you.
  6. Payment information: to ensure that you have paid for all the services.
  7. We may also gather technical information about your use of the website using Cookies.

We may also use this information for the purpose of research to better understand how customers use the service, what content and books on it they like, in order to identify ways in which we can make improvements as well as how we promote it as well as the range of content and eBooks and Audiobooks that we offer.

This research will only ever be on an aggregated basis and will not include any of your personal information. It will be used internally and we may also provide it to others. We also use some of this information to keep our communications with you secure and to prevent unauthorised access. We may need to process some of your information for the purposes of enforcing our terms of use.

Who do we share this personal information with
We share information that we collect about you with companies that help us to provide and run the services at House of Health and Wellbeing. This for example covers areas such as administering payments, storage of data, sending emails as well as tracking and reporting on customer behaviour patterns

We will share personal information with law enforcement or any other authorities if required by law.

How long do we keep personal information
Personal information will be kept for different periods of time, as follows:

  1. Payment information is held for seven years after the transaction
  2. Server logs are held for 90 days
  3. Records on how you have used this service are held for seven years
  4. If you have consented to us sending you occasional promotional emails about House of Health and Wellbeing then we will keep this information for a period of once year following your last use of the service

Why we collect and use personal information
We collect and use your personal information under the following lawful bases:

  1. In some cases we will need this personal information about you for the purpose of our contract with you under our terms of use or in order for you to sign up to the service.
  2. We will only email you promotional material when you have given your consent for us to do so.

  2. require us to correct any mistakes in your information which we hold
  3. require the erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations (please note that this is different from using the ‘Delete Account’ option in Account Settings on the service. The ‘Delete Account’ option does not delete the entirety of the data we hold about you, only that which relates directly to your active House of Health and Wellbeing account subscription.
  4. receive the personal information concerning you which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations.
  5. object at any time to processing of personal information concerning you for direct marketing
  6. object to decisions being taken by automated means which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you
  7. object in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal information
  8. otherwise restrict our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances

Keeping your personal information secure
We have a number of security measures in place to prevent any of your personal information from being lost or used in an unauthorised way. We will limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business requirement to know it.

We also have a number of procedures in place to deal with potential security breaches. We will notify you of any security breaches where we are legally required to do so.
