How to work well from home
the pandemic has more people than ever working at home, some for the first time. If you are new to working from home and are looking to get a good work-life balance, then House of Health and Wellbeing has compiled the following tips for you:
Keep regular working hours
Set a work schedule and try to stick to it as best you can. Having clear guidelines for yourself for when to work and when you will call it a day will help you to maintain a work-life balance.
Have a morning routine
A good morning routine can help you to get started for the day. Aim to be at your desk at the same time each day following a morning ritual which signals that you are getting ready for the work day. With extra time on our hands instead of the commute, you can use this time to go for a walk or run, tidy your desk ahead of the day or making sure that you are dressed and ready with a cup of coffee at a certain time.
Set boundaries with people you live with
Setting boundaries and ground rules is a good idea for people who may be sharing their working space with other people. Let other people in your house know what times you will be working and when you are not to be disturbed.
If your company had set rules on break times when you worked in the office, then try and stick to these. If you are self-employed then make sure you set regular breaks for yourself throughout the day when you take some time away from your phone and computer.
Get out the house
Try and get out the house at least once a day. This could be to run an errand or to take some exercise. Getting some extra movement and fresh air into your daily routine will do you good and will help you to remain productive throughout the day.
